Sharpe & Co Pty Ltd ("Sharpe & Co", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information responsibly. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and store it, and the choices you have.

1. Does this policy apply to us?

The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) generally exempts small businesses with an annual turnover of $3 million or less from most obligations under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), unless an exception applies (for example, if the business trades in personal information, or is related to a business that isn't exempt).

We may also collect personal information from third parties where relevant to a project, such as architects, designers, or other trades you've asked us to liaise with, but only where you have authorised that contact.

4. Why we collect, hold, and use personal information

We collect and use personal information to:

You can unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time using the "unsubscribe" link in any email we send, or by contacting us at [email protected].

6. Disclosure of personal information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with:

✓ Trusted service providers who help us operate our business, such as our email/newsletter platform (HubSpot), accounting software (Xero), and website host

✓ Architects, designers, and trade partners directly involved in your project, with your knowledge

✓ Government or regulatory bodies where required by law

We do not disclose personal information to overseas recipients except where a third-party service provider we use (such as a cloud-based software platform) stores data on servers located outside Australia. Where this applies, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information remains protected.

7. Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies (such as Google Analytics or Meta Pixel) to understand how visitors use our site and to measure the effectiveness of our marketing. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though this may affect how our website functions.

8. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes using secure, password-protected systems and limiting access to personal information to staff who need it to perform their role.

9. Access and correction

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete. You can make a request by contacting us using the details in Section 11.

10. Making a complaint
